FAQs

1. I don’t drink very often and do not have a problem with drugs or alcohol and I’d like to come support the group. Is it okay if I join?

Thank you for wanting to support the mission of FitSober!!! The only requirement to participate in a FitSober event is 48 hours continuous abstinence from drugs and alcohol. That being said, we request a personal commitment to sober living if you choose to participate in more than one or two events.

2. Do I have to be in shape for this event?
Nope. Every event (unless specifically stated) is open to adults of all levels of fitness.
3. What if it rains for an outdoor event?
The show goes on! Unless there is danger (torrential downpour and lightning), we can all still enjoy being in the outdoors. Please dress appropriately and check the Facebook event page for updates.
4. I introduced a friend to this group who struggles with substance use disorder. I am personally not in the same situation as him. Is it ok if I come as a support?
Yes absolutely! Support people 100% welcome.
5. What kind of stuff do you do at the Fitness Thursday events?

Fitness Thursdays with FitSober are 1 hour fitness classes where we could be doing jumping jacks, jogging, jumping, playing with weights and kettle-bells, lunging, stretching, and/or throwing stuff. And…don’t worry, everything can be adapted to meet you wherever you are. All fitness levels and abilities welcome. We are here to have fun and celebrate being alive.

6. What are the safety protocols for exercising indoors during the pandemic?

Great question! We go by what the local health department recommends and as such, the Pallas Fitness facility currently requires EVERYONE be fully vaccinated to enjoy the space.  Some people wear masks and some do not.    Please bring proof of your vaccination to your first indoor event.

8. How Much does it cost? $$$?

Nothing! The only requirement if 48 hours continuous sobriety prior to attending class.  FitSober is run by volunteers and the facilities are all donated or offered at a large discount.  You may always donate to help the organization and it is not expected.
